Hamas warriors slaughtered up to 1,400 Israelis on October 7. Almost 3,000 Americans died on September 11, 2001. While it may not compare to hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths in Iraq (2003-06) or many other locations of darker-skinned peoples (and while it falls short of the slaughter of Palestinians over the last two weeks), it still is horrendous. And, worse, it is guaranteed to keep happening until the cycle is broken.
Oct. 16, 2023, (EIRNS)—Without intervention, the Palestinian-Israeli situation is a cockpit for World War III. The strategic situation of Southwest Asia is one of incredible danger, now escalating in a way that the spillover can ignite a global conflagration.
Oct. 15, 2023 (EIRNS)—The expanding BRICS grouping includes five important nations in the Middle East-North Africa region, including three of the world’s largest fossil fuel producers—Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates—and Egypt and Ethiopia. Now, among these nations the core of technology transfer worldwide is developing—for nuclear energy, fast transport, space technologies—with the creation of productive credit led by China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The future development of the world economy is there, if the United States and European nations would join it
Oct. 13, 2023 (EIRNS)—The nation of China, in consultation with the nation of Brazil, currently presiding as United Nations Security Council head, has proposed that
“the UN has the responsibility and obligation to play its due role on the Palestinian question,” and that China “supports the Security Council in holding an emergency meeting on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, agrees that the meeting should focus on humanitarian concerns, demand a ceasefire, an end to violence and the protection of civilians, form a binding international consensus and take concrete next steps.”

Recently, some Canadians have been hyping up the Taiwan question, spreading false information and unfounded arguments, and creating a narrative trap. Canada’s parliament even invited “Taiwan independence” separatists to testify about the Taiwan question, who made wild talks and seriously misled the Canadian public’s understanding of the Taiwan question. Oct. 12, 2023 (EIRNS)—Over the last several days, Western governments and societies are being lined up behind the defense of Israel in a way that would make even a drill sergeant blush. As U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said when he arrived in Israel today: “We have the back of the Israeli people. We have their back today. We’ll have it tomorrow. We will have it every day.” Even Blinken was outdone by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, however, who laid on the guilt Oct. 12, when he said: “Our own history, our responsibility arising from the Holocaust, makes it a perpetual task for us to stand up for the security of the State of Israel.”
Oct. 10, 2023 (EIRNS)—Israel’s most widely circulated daily, Yedioth Ahronoth, properly exploded in outrage over the psychopathic failings of the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, failings that have left many Israelis slaughtered and the country plunging into a bloodlust rage. The daily’s senior editor finds their horrific situation to be
Oct. 10, 2023 (EIRNS)—The fact that 900 Israelis have been killed, mostly civilians, in just three days can only rock the political foundations of Israel. Two scathing commentaries appearing in Israel’s largest circulating daily, Yedioth Ahronoth, ruthlessly attack Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and demand his departure. One is by Sever Plocker, Yedioth Ahronoth’s very senior editor and commentator and the other is by Shelly Yachimovich, former chairperson of the Labor Party.
