EIR LEAD EDITORIAL FOR MONDAY OCTOBER 16, 2023

Oct. 15, 2023 (EIRNS)—The expanding BRICS grouping includes five important nations in the Middle East-North Africa region, including three of the world’s largest fossil fuel producers—Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates—and Egypt and Ethiopia. Now, among these nations the core of technology transfer worldwide is developing—for nuclear energy, fast transport, space technologies—with the creation of productive credit led by China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The future development of the world economy is there, if the United States and European nations would join it

Anything but routine can be expected this year. An Emergency Program To Save Argentina, a New Member of the BRICS

The following proposal was released by the Schiller Institute, Sept. 4, 2023.

To save Argentina, the Schiller Institute proposes immediate steps to be taken by the government of President Alberto Fernández (shown), and candidate Sergio Massa, the current Economics Minister.

This article appears in the September 15, 2023 issue of Executive Intelligence Review.

Print version of this article

There are certain battles that cannot be avoided and must be won. One such is the battle to get the United States and Western Europe to change their current geopolitical confrontation course with Russia and China, a course meant to enforce the bankrupt trans-Atlantic financial system and its unipolar world order. The probable alternative to winning that fight is thermonuclear war.

Another such battle is the upcoming presidential election in Argentina on Oct. 22, which is shaping up as the immediate, first battleground between the newly expanded BRICS-11 process and that same bankrupt trans-Atlantic system—a system that is terrified that it will be swept away by the tidal wave of nations joining the BRICS, the emerging Global Majority. The outcome of that showdown will surely determine the future of Argentina for decades to come; but it may also decide the fate of the BRICS as well. on Jan. 1, 2024, by beating that nation’s economy to a bloody pulp through debt collection and capital flight, and in that way fully discredit the current Alberto Fernández government and its party’s candidate, Economics Minister Sergio Massa, and hand victory to the psychologically unstable Javier Milei.

EIR LEAD EDITORIAL FOR WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2023

Sept. 12, 2023 (EIRNS)—“You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to build nuplexes. Lay it out to em. How do you build a nuplex? Well, you go out and dig a big crater…. Build a crater the size of a city, a city of a half-million people, or 100,000 people, but build a crater for an industrial city of a new type, from six, seven or eight stories below the surface. On this thing, stick two nuclear plants, of one-half to two gigawatts each. We’re not going to export a few, ten or twenty billion dollars worth of additional exports—we’re going to export hundreds of cities!”

Glazyev Notes the Shift to Trade in National Currencies Has Been ‘Staggeringly Quick’

Russian economist Sergey Glaziev

Link to Source: EIR

Sept. 6, 2023 (EIRNS)—In a lengthy Sept. 4 interview with the Sevastopol news portal ForPost, the prominent Russian economist Sergey Glazyev noted that the transition to national currencies was forced to happen staggeringly quickly,” in response to the dollar being used as a weapon of hybrid warfare against Russia and other countries of the Global Majority. This is a positive development, Glazyev noted, but in itself, the transition to settlements in national currencies is only a small element of economic security.”

The new world economic order,” he continued, will be based on the unification of countries around a common criterion for the growth of people’s well-being, and in international cooperation—around mutual benefit, which is achieved through a synergistic effect, a combination of competitive advantages.”

EIR LEAD EDITORIAL FOR TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 5, 2023

Sept. 4, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—The fight is clearly on for a new world system, one that will determine the direction of the world for the coming decades and beyond. While some of this may be playing out more explicitly on the surface, such as the U.S.-Russia proxy war and its footprint in Ukraine, the deeper elements which have actually been at play for decades are beginning to become more evident than ever before.

*Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland with Cote D’Ivoire’s President and Foreign Minister, August 3, 2023

Aug. 31, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—A report from Grayzone’s Anya Parampil sums up the situation in the world today. Parampil, who covered the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg last week, spoke to a diplomat from host nation South Africa who had met with Acting U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland during her July 29-Aug. 1 visit to South Africa. The diplomat, reported Parampil, said that Nuland and her team were demonstrably unprepared to grapple with recent developments on the African continent,” and she quoted the diplomat that,  ‘In over 20 years working with the Americans, I have never seen them so desperate.’ ”

Two Sides—The Choice for the Future Is Now

image: Plato vs Aristotle Link to Source: EIR

Aug. 28, 2023 (EIRNS)—We are in the period in which the direction of history will be decided. Following the breakthroughs of last week—the BRICS expansion, NDB promise for development credit, India’s Moon landing—the world has before it an historic choice. There is the side of the BRICS: progress, science, justice, peace and a future. Or there is the side of the current collective West: decadence, colonialization, warfare and worse.

In this evaluation put forward today by Schiller Institute founder and leader Helga Zepp-LaRouche, she made the point once again, that the goal of the Schiller Institute is to succeed with collaborators, so that the Global North will join the side of humanity. Her international Appeal from Aug. 20 is circulating, Appeal to the Citizens of the Global North: We Must Support the Construction of a new Just World Economic Order!” Let Us Join Hands with the Global Majority To Create a New Chapter in World History!”
