Oct. 6, 2023 (EIRNS)—It is crystal clear to the world that the weapons flow to Ukraine from the United States, the biggest supplier, has been disrupted by last weekend’s tumult in the House of Representatives, unseating the Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). There is gnashing of teeth by the NATO warhawks. In Europe, chief of the EU diplomacy Josep Borrell appealed for the U.S. to soon, somehow “retake its role” in arming Ukraine. He spoke at an Oct. 5 summit of the European Political Community in Granada, Spain, attended by Ukraine President Zelenskyy as well. In the U.S., warhawk circles are mooting various ways to get around Congress, which means evading the Constitutional authority of Congress on war powers. For example, there is talk of “reprogramming” Pentagon expenditures already approved by Congress, to divert funding to Ukraine, from other non-Ukraine purposes.

Sept. 21, 2023 (EIRNS)—Three African leaders, who together had attended the July 27-28 Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg, addressed the United Nations General Assembly today. Certainly they found colonialism to be oppressive and destructive, but all three were not punching from below.

Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa strongly condemned “tendencies by some powerful countries who preach peace, human rights and democracy and yet clandestinely fund conflicts and the unconstitutional changes of governments, for their own narrow interests.” Central African Republic President Faustin-Archange Touadéra demanded to know “how to accelerate implementation of the Agenda 2030 on behalf of peace, prosperity, progress and the sustainability for all, when certain states, from the height of their political, economic and military power, constantly stir up coercive diplomacy or utilize international financial institutions for the purpose of imposing economic, financial and commercial blockades against countries rendered poor by slavery, colonization and imperialism?”

Aug. 31, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—A report from Grayzone’s Anya Parampil sums up the situation in the world today. Parampil, who covered the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg last week, spoke to a diplomat from host nation South Africa who had met with Acting U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland during her July 29-Aug. 1 visit to South Africa. The diplomat, reported Parampil, said that “Nuland and her team were demonstrably unprepared to grapple with recent developments on the African continent,” and she quoted the diplomat that, “ ‘In over 20 years working with the Americans, I have never seen them so desperate.’ ”

The Dissolution of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
A new international security architecture must be created to end the division of the world into blocs, eliminating geopolitics. This new architecture must take into account the security concerns of every sovereign nation, large or small.
